Ronny Chieng

Ronny Chieng was born on 21 November 1985 , non-primary source needed is a Malaysian actor and comedian. Chieng is currently a senior correspondent on The Daily Show on Comedy Central and creator and star of the sitcom Ronny Chieng International Student which premiered on ABC (Australia) as well as Comedy Central Asia in 2017. Chieng was born into an Malaysian Chinese family. He was born in Johor Bahru. From 1989 to 1994, he was living in Manchester in New Hampshire. Chieng was a performer at a comedy festival held in Melbourne, Australia in 2013, with Trevor Noah. Chieng was then asked to take on the role of correspondent on Noah's Daily Show two years later. He was named one the 10 most watched comics by Variety in July of 2016. In October of 2016, Chieng appeared as a guest on The Daily Show to react to an interview with Jesse Watts on a Fox News segment that many considered racist. Chieng airs an expletive-filled critique of the conservative network's segment. Chieng also visited New York City's Chinatown. Watters had mocked the people living there and conducted respectful interviews in Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese. The video became viral and received coverage in the Washington Post and Slate In his early years, Chieng was a Singapore Sea Scout. Even though he's lived in Australia for more than a decade Chieng does not hold citizenship or permanent residency status in Australia. Chieng joked in 2018 that there was a phobia of cynophobia, however, he afterwards, he said he was 100 % unafraid of dogs.
