Susan Sarandon Bio
It was shortly following the 1968 Democratic convention There was an audition to a film with a variety of parts for teenagers who had disrupted the convention. Joe (1970) was auditioned for by Joe (1970) and Joe (1970) Two recently graduated Catholic University students. Chris Sarandon, an actor who had trained in acting, was not selected. His wife Susan was offered a part in the film as Susan Compton. She is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the film Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer friend and then befriends Joe (Peter Boyle)who is a bigot who works on an assembly line , and who is a collector of guns.Five years later, Sarandon made the film that fans of the cult classics have come to recognize her character Janet, who gets entangled with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). Sarandon was a fierce advocate for Annie in Bull Durham (1988) more than 15 years before she started her acting career. She traveled on her own from Rome from Italy, to Los Angeles. "It was such a wonderful script ... and was able to dispel the myths that surround it and challenge the American definition of success" she stated. "When I arrived at the studio I spent a bit of time with Kevin Costner, kissed some ladies at the studio, then got back on a plane". Tim Robbins (1988), her Bull Durham supporting actor, had already given birth to two sons by 1992 which put Sarandon into a position where she was able to leave her home and be able to take on more challenging roles. The result was four Academy Award nominations in the 1990s as well as the award for best actress for Dead Man Walking (1995). Louis Malle's Atlantic City (1980) was her first Academy Award nomination.
